US Drill Rigs Running Up 32 from a Year Ago
There were 440 drill rigs running in the US last week, up 2 rigs from last week, up 32 rigs from 1 year ago. Canadian drillers operated 51 rigs, down 4 rigs from the previous week, up 24 rigs from one year ago.
US Raw Steel Production Up 0.6% from Previous Week
In the week ending April 24, US raw steel production was 1,781,000 net tons at an ACUR of 78.4 percent, up 0.6 percent from the previous week.
Conference Board LEI Increased
The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) for March (released 4/22) increased 1.3 percent, following a 0.1 percent decrease in February.
The US LEI rose sharply in March which more than offset February’s slightly negative number.” Said Ataman Ozyildirim, Senior Director of Economic Research at the Conference Board. “The improvement in the US LEI, with all ten components contributing positively, suggests economic momentum is increasing in the short-term.”
April Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey Reports Activity Decline in April
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released its Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey results for April 2021 and reports factory activity declined further in April, according to executives responding to the survey. The production index contracted again, suggesting the contraction in output has steepened since March.
Did you watch the Congressional address Biden made this week? Trump stood for America First, not Joe Biden. He has been in politics for a half-century and has done things to benefit himself only.
It strikes me that he presumes to take full credit for the covid vaccine, the booming economy ( you might recall President Trump saying all through the 2020 campaign, that 2021 would be the best year as we came out of the pandemic) etc .etc. etc. ALL bullshit, as usual. Biden had nothing to do with the creation of the vaccine, or the logistics of distribution, zero to do with the economy, which he and his communist party are well on their way to destroying.
