On Friday the Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) was released.

The LEI for the US increased 0.2 percent in August following a 1.1 percent increase in July and a 0.7 percent increase in June.

The LEI continued to rise in August, although at a slower rate than in July,” said Ataman Ozyildirim, Economist at the Conference Board. “The LEI’s six-month growth trend has been held back slightly by lackluster contributions from housing permits and new orders for non-defense capital orders. Despite concerns about investment picking up, the economy should continue expanding at a moderate pace for the rest of the year.”

… edged 0.2% lower last week as mills operated at an average capability utilizati0n rate (ACUR) of 78.2 percent. In the corresponding week last year mills operated at an ACUR of 78.3 percent. Thus far this year mills have operated at an ACUR of 77.2 percent.

September 2014 Empire State Manufacturing Survey

… indicates that business expanded at a robust pace for New York manufacturers. Indexes for the six month outlook conveyed a high degree of optimism about future business conditions.

According to the Wall Street Journal

Most Federal Reserve officials continue to expect the central bank to first increase interest rates sometime next year, according to official projections. In the forecast, 14 of 17 officials said they continue to believe the Fed’s first increase in near zero short-term rates will occur in 2015.”

Firms responding to the Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey indicated continued growth in the region’s manufacturing sector in September. Although the current activity fell from its relatively high reading in August, the other broad indicators increased their readings from last month.

On June 25, 2014 19 year old Brendan Tevlin was on his way home from a friend’s house in New Jersey when, stopped at a traffic light, Ali Muhammad Brown walked up to Brendan’s family car and pumped 10 rounds into the vehicle killing Brendan. Brown then stole the family car and drove off, with Brendan still in it, to a parking lot and left him there. This rat scumbag piece of crap bent on jihad said that Brendan’s death was “a just kill.” An act of vengeance and retaliation for US military action in the middle east. “All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government.” So “a life for a life” said the devout muslim.

The liberal media in this country is so biased that I did not hear of this anywhere until last week – it happened in June. The president chose to speak out on the Trayvon Martin case, on the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. but Brendan Tevlin? Not a word was spoken. It’s par for the course for this president and the media. I am incensed by this. My heart goes out to the family of this young man. He could have been my son or my grandson. So sad, the loss of an American life by such a useless piece of shit.

Last Saturday (9/13) we got word that the Islamic state terrorist group released a video showing the beheading of David Haines, a British aid worker.

These terrorists are hell bent on destroying the United States and her citizens; in fact they murder anyone who does not conform to their ideology. Trust me, they are already here and in large numbers. We ARE at war with these creeps, here at home and abroad. We must seek out and destroy them wherever they are, all of them. As sure as I am sitting here, we will destroy the Islamic state…but some other fanatics will rise to take their place.

We have to protect and defend the United States or we will lose the way of life we have enjoyed for 238 years. The USA has already been polluted by progressive liberals who aim to change the fabric of our country. I see it every day, in the schools, in the streets, on the radio, on the television, in the newspapers, magazines and books. It is all rotten garbage, the dumbing down of America in our schools, loose morals, and political correctness. None of this is good for the country, for our children, our grandchildren and generations to come.

Terrorist Attempt Foiled in Indian Ocean

Al Qaeda terrorists tried to hijack a Pakistan navy frigate earlier this month and use it to target US Navy vessels on anti-terrorism patrol in the northwestern Indian Ocean. News of the attempted seizure of the frigate was initially kept from the media. The September 6 raid which was foiled after a fire fight and a suicide bombing was carried out in part by Pakistan navy personnel who had been recruited by Al Qaeda, officials said. “Without assistance from inside, these people could not have breached security” said the Pakistani Defense Minister.

“It appears the officers on board were to be joined by other terrorists who were to arrive by boat from the sea and then stow away on board” the Pakistani security official said. “The plan was to get close to the US ships on the high seas and then turn the shipboard weapon systems on the Americans.”

The terrorists plan was foiled primarily by the alertness of the ship’s gunner. The terrorists who were to board the Pakistani frigate approached the docked ship in Marine uniforms. “The gunner felt they were too close and their weapons appeared to be AK-47’s which are not standard marine issue,” a Pakistani security official said. “The gunner turned his sights on them and fired a warning shot. The terrorists, fearing the game was up, retaliated with rockets and automatic weapons.”

At the sound of gunfire, Marines and naval commandos rushed to the ship and were engaged by the terrorists awaiting their terrorist buddies in the inflatable boat. While those on board the frigate continued to fight it out for a few hours, the ones in the inflatable boat had no chance. The gunner ripped apart the boat with his Gatling antiaircraft gun, killing all six in the boat. The four rogue naval men were killed aboard the frigate officials said. The battle ended when the last surviving terrorist, on being surrounded, blew himself up and, in my view, is now in hell with his seventy virgins who all have syphilis.

American Islamic State Sympathizer Indicted for Terrorist Plot

A federal grand jury has indicted a Rochester NY man for allegedly plotting to carry out a terror attack because he sympathized with Islamic state terrorists, officials said Tuesday. Mufid Elfgeeh, 30 years old, was arrested in June on gun charges that were the first step of a broader undercover operation by the FBI. Authorities announced he had been indicted on a charge of attempting to provide material support to the Islamic state and attempted to murder members of the US military.

Elfgeeh attempted to help three individuals travel to Syria and join the terrorist group. He also plotted to fatally shoot service members who had returned to the US from Iraq. The indictment is the latest sign of the FBI’s effort to identify Americans who might want to join Islamic state or other terrorist groups in Syria.

Tracking Multiple Terror Threats

The US is tracking multiple terror plots based out of Syria that target the West – threats that current and former intelligence officials say have been traced to Al Aaeda’s Syrian affiliate and not to Islamic state.
The plot thickens further as it becomes apparent the Islamic state is not the only radical Islamist terror group threatening freedom around the world, and aimed mostly at the United States. Like I said last week, these groups are like weeds in your yard, you kill them, they pop up again but we must be vigilant and kill the weeds wherever they appear or we will be overrun by weeds. Not a very good thought.
