Hourly Wages Grew 3.2% from a Year Earlier

Hourly wages grew 3.2% from a year earlier, as hiring in the US sprang back in March and the unemployment rate remained at a historically low level, underscoring that the labor market remains a source of strength for the economy.

Non-farm payrolls increased a seasonally adjusted 196,000 in March, the Labor Dept. said Friday. The unemployment rate held steady at 3.8%, just above a 49 year low of 3.7% touched last fall.

Construction is Off to a Strong Start in 2019

Total outlays increased 1.0 percent in February, mostly due to a gain in public outlays. Residential rose 0.7% but was bolstered entirely by a gain in home improvement spending. Wells Fargo

Uncle Joe Biden …

Poor Uncle Joe Biden, though he has not declared to be running for the presidency in 2020, the newbies on the left are trying to, or they going to, fry him. They want the fresh, new Democrats to be in charge. Now come the charges of perversion, dirty old man, all charges of indecency against a decent man. He is a politician, an old school politician. These are things he has done for years in order to endear himself to his constituents. He is arguably the best candidate the left has to offer. His experience among the left’s current candidates is unmatched. Leave the guy alone, he means no harm to anyone.

On Illegal Immigration:

We sympathize with Mr. Trump’s frustration with waves of Central Americans trying to enter the US without waiting in line as immigrants from other countries do. The President is charged with protecting the homeland, and the migrant surge has overwhelmed US border agents and nonprofits. Border apprehensions in March exceeded 100,000, many of them parents (adults) with children (in many cases, not their own).

This genuine humanitarian crisis demands a response, but Democrats refuse to address the incentives for the surge that their policies have created. Courts now let all illegal immigrants claiming hardship upon their apprehension to remain in the US as they await an asylum hearing. Most vanish into the US and never appear for their hearing. Tens of thousands are traveling to the border betting they can exploit this asylum loophole. Mr. Trump’s shutdown threat reflects his exasperation at being blocked from solving the problem.” An excerpt from Review & Outlook in Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal

In my view, the root of the problem is the Democratic party. They created the policies which have allowed this to happen for years, possibly culminating (possibly not). If they gain power, our borders will be gone. In the obvious crisis currently occurring on our southern border, they are willing to do nothing. In their vile quest to overtake our government, they seek to pay for the needs of these illegals. We know they want to grant them the right to vote, and whom do you suppose they would vote for? Again, their zeal to attain power, and keep it, versus the needs of Americans and the good of our country. Talk about “deplorables”.

I will track these campaign promises and will check them off as each is accomplished adding those I have missed as they become apparent. This is quite an agenda and will be difficult to achieve all in one term, but I believe the American people are behind him and know these things need to be done. Now, if he can get our legislators to support him instead of fighting him….

TEDDY ROOSEVELT ON IMMIGRANTS IN AMERICA…1907

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
