Housing Starts Surged in July

Housing starts surged 22.6% in July to a 1.496 million-unit pace. Single-family starts rose 8.2 percent while apartment building skyrocketed 56.7 percent.

Empire State Manufacturing Reports Edge Up

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York released its Empire State Manufacturing Survey for August 2020 and reports business activity edged slightly higher in New York State. The headline general business conditions index fell, new orders were little changed, and shipments increased modestly.

US Raw Steel Production Up From Previous Week

In the week ending August 15, US raw steel production was 1,377,000 net tons at an ACUR of 61.5%, up 1.5% from the previous week.

Manufacturing Activity Expanding

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey released its report for August 2020 and reports manufacturing activity in the region continued to expand, according to firms responding to the survey. The survey’s current indicators for general activity, new orders and shipments remained positive for the third consecutive month, though readings declined from July.

Conference Board LEI Increased in July

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) increased in July following increases in both June and May.

The US LEI increased for the third consecutive month, albeit at a slower pace than the sharp increases of the previous two months” said Ataman Ozyildirim, Senior Director of Economic Research at the Conference Board.

Riots Continue

The rioting continues, stores are being looted, property burned, police and civilians attacked. Where is all this happening? In the United States, that’s where, and further, in cities controlled by Democrats for many decades. Why is it no one in government publicly condemns this anarchy? I hear nothing from the left who say the looting is a myth and that the riots are peaceful protests.

Give me a break. The scrotum-less legislators we have on the right give some lip service but take no stand, demand no end to the violence, do nothing to quell the violence. This is a sickening display of how far our politics have sunk, how deeply both Democrats and Republicans dwell in the swamp. Trump is our Hoover Dam; the swamp is pushing the great wall from the other side and this President is the only thing standing between us and the flood of anti-American horse shit behind the dam.

I have not watched any of the Democrat Convention, I cannot stomach the litany of lies they portray as truths. It is unconscionable. It is even more horrifying to consider Kamala Harris as the vice president and likely the president of our country. She is not competent enough to hold either office, in my opinion. What a mess our country will be in if the commies take control. You can read  what choices will be made for the direction of the country.

RESPONSIBLE HELP FOR THE POOR? THROW MONEY AT THE PROBLEM?
TEACH AMERICAN HISTORY TO OUR CHILDREN? ERASE AMERICAN HISTORY?
RESPECT OUR FLAG? DON’T GIVE A SHIT?
SAY THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IN SCHOOL? WHAT IS THAT?

This is quite an agenda and will be difficult to achieve all in one term, but I believe the American people are behind him and know these things need to be done. Now, if he can get our legislators to support him instead of fighting him….
