Industrial production rose in September, regaining its footing by rising 0.4% after having fallen three of the prior four months.
Activity Declined Modestly in New York State
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York released its Empire State Manufacturing Survey results and reports business activity declined modestly in New York State, according to firms responding to the October survey.
Manufacturing Activity Continued to Decline Overall
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its October 2022 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey results and reposts manufacturing activity in the region continued to decline overall. The survey’s indicators for general activity and new orders remained negative.
US Raw Steel Production Up from Previous Week
In the week ending October 15, 2022, US raw steel production was 1,688,000 net tons at an ACUR of 75.7 percent, up 0.5 percent from the previous week.
US Drill Rigs Running Up from Previous Week
There were 769 drill rigs running in the US last week, up 7 rigs from the previous week, up 226 rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers added 1 rig, to 216, up 48 rigs from one year ago.
LEI Decline Points to Recession
The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) declined in September and continues to indicate the US economy is headed for recession (I believe we are in it already). Consumer expectations continued to weigh on the index, and hints at the puzzle of current economic conditions. Decades-high inflation, tighter fed policy and recession concerns are weighing on consumers perceptions.

Friday…apparently it has been done, several states thus far have said they will not comply. On a greedier note, Pfizer is raising the cost of the vaccine to $130 per dose as the government is going to stop paying for the vaccine. Pretty blatant graft and all out in the open. How much money will Pfizer pay to the higher ups at the CDC for their decision? They are all getting very wealthy from this.

By March, then Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao purchased $600,000 in two stock funds while her agency was in the pandemic response and her husband, Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, was leading negotiations over a giant, market boosting stimulus bill.
And as the government was devising a loan package aimed specifically at helping companies including Boeing and General Electric Co., a Treasury Department official involved in administering the aid acquired shares of both companies.”
I could go on listing the corrupt actions of our paid for by the American taxpayer employees, who seem to be doing quite well for themselves with insider information, but it disgusts me to see what is going on in our country. Yes folks, the swamp is large and very deep.
