• New orders for manufactured durable goods, down two consecutive months, decreased 0.6 percent.
• Shipments of manufactured durable goods, down two consecutive months decreased 0.6 percent.
• Inventories decreased after twenty-four consecutive monthly increases, falling 0.1 percent.

US Raw Steel Production

In the week ending February 2, 2019 US raw steel production was 1,889,000 tons which is an ACUR of 81.2 percent. In the corresponding week last year mills operated at an ACUR of 74.8%. Thus far this year mills have produced prox 8,954,000 tons compared to the prox 8,115,000 tons produced in the like period last year. AISI

Blackface Headline Controversies

Merriam-Webster defines “blackface” as: “makeup applied to a performer playing a black person, especially in a minstrel show.”

Everyone is worried about Gov. Northram in blackface while in school…blackface has been a part of entertainment and music forever. I never considered it racist.

What people should be discussing is the Democrat position of murdering an infant AFTER THE CHILD HAS BEEN BORN. Northam described it, it was heartless and disgusting. We can’t talk about that because he is all of a sudden, a racist from a college picture taken 30 years ago. All a diversion to remove their infanticide policy from the front page.

What exactly, have the dems done for black and Hispanic America? I mean, really, what have they done to improve the lives of these Americans? They have all gotten wealthier, they live in the big homes surrounded by walls, maybe with armed guards.

The truth is, they have done NOTHING positive. They promise but do not deliver, only pain and suffering. Take a look, Donald Trump HAS done something for black and Hispanic Americans. Unemployment in those two groups are at the lowest levels ever. If the president had some support from his Congress, what more could be accomplished? I dare say- PLENTY.

A Green New Deal?

Where does this crap come from? A twenty-nine year old who believes she knows everything, has a degree in economics-but knows nothing about the economy. The Ocasio-Cortez woman has her head up her rectum, pretty far. What does she want?

• Medicare for all (replacing private insurance with government control)
• Would require that the US be carbon neutral in 10 years (non-carbon sources provide only 11% of US energy today, this would mandate a complete makeover of American electric power, transportation and manufacturing. (No airplane travel, no diesel engine trucks to move the products we make, electric cars the size of a matchbox, trains running on what?)
• A guaranteed government job for all; would provide all members of our society, across all regions and all communities, the opportunity, training and education to be a full and equal participant in the transition, including a job guarantee program to assure a living wage job to everyone who wants one.
• A new system for corporate control. Pocahontas wants a new federal charter for business with more than 1 billion $ in annual revenue that would make companies answer to more than shareholders. Employees would elect 40% of directors who would be obliged to consider “benefits” beyond returns to the owners.
• Vastly higher taxes (how do you think “they” will pay for all this nonsense? By taxing YOU, of course… my view)
  These are merely the most prominent proposals.”

The American public needs to have a debate about this, lest it sleepwalk into a socialist future it doesn’t want. Credit President Trump for teeing it up in his State of the Union address this week.”

The general election is less than 2 years away, is this really what Americans want of their country? I think not. Ms. Cortez has nearly 2 years to bury herself and her socialist, communist comrades. I hope she will do a good job. If the left gains control of the White House in 2020, this is the crap we will get, and more of it than you can imagine.

I will track these campaign promises and will check them off as each is accomplished adding those I have missed as they become apparent. This is quite an agenda and will be difficult to achieve all in one term, but I believe the American people are behind him and know these things need to be done. Now, if he can get our legislators to support him instead of fighting him….
