US raw steel production increased 0.3 percent in the week ending March 6, 2021. It was 1,755,000 net tons at an ACUR of 77.4 percent, this is a 0.3 percent increase from the prior week.

US Drill Rigs Running Up One from Prior Week

There were 403 drill rigs running in the US last week, up one rig from the prior week, down 390 rigs from one year ago. In Canada, drill rigs dropped by 22 to 141, down 62 rigs from one year ago.

$1.9 Trillion Spending Bill Passed

On Wednesday March 10 the US House of Representatives passed Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion dollar pork spending bill, falsely called Covid-19 relief or some other false name. In the Senate, no Republican will vote for it, no Democrat will vote against it, which means the useless vice president will cast the victory vote. 9% of the proceeds go to covid related expense, the balance is for political pork and is an extreme waste of my tax dollars, your tax dollars and every other taxpaying American citizens tax dollars. How do we allow them to get away with this crap? It has really gotten out of hand. The HB 1 bill will be next and this, if pushed through, will dramatically change our country-and not for the better.

HR8 Background Checks

The House of Representatives approved two measures on Thursday that expand background checks on individuals who are seeking to purchase or transfer firearms and would give authorities 10 business days for federal background checks to be completed before a gun sale can be licensed.

HR8 will “utilize the current background checks process in the United States to ensure individuals prohibited from gun possession are not able to obtain firearms (My view: Idiocy. Bad people can always get guns, that is why gun control is aimed at law-abiding citizens.” They want us disarmed and it ain’t gonna happen)

Currently any firearm purchased at a retail store or online has to go through a background check and has to involve a licensed firearm dealer with a federal firearm license. Specifically, HR8 would require background checks for private sales. (Horse shit, more gun-owner registration)

The second bill would give federal officials 10 business days for federal background checks to be carried out before a gun sale can be licensed. Currently, such sales can proceed if the government cannot complete complicated background checks of prospective buyers within three days.

To my point above:

The idea that this is going to make us safer is laughable,’ said Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill) on the House floor March 11. “criminals looking to get their hands on firearms to use in crimes are not going to submit to background checks. Only law-abiding citizens will follow the law. This is a back door means of setting up a national registry of firearms-something I completely oppose.”

California Ethnic Studies Curriculum

Liberals in California in the state’s Department of Education next week is voting on a new ethnic studies curriculum that portrays America as an oppressive nation that must be revolutionized (there will be a revolution alright, to clear the liberal vermin out of our land). It puts race at the center of learning by amplifying ethnic differences and highlighting the conflicts between them. One divisive lesson focuses on police brutality and asks students to describe what “tools and/or tactics of resistance” they would use if an “incident” happened in their community. Other lessons teach about “conditional whiteness” and America’s history of colonization. This has really gone overboard.

TEDDY ROOSEVELT ON IMMIGRANTS IN AMERICA…1907

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
