Just a happy birthday to my oldest sister Ferne, lost her two years ago. She taught me to appreciate art, nature, style, rock n’ roll music and life…. Love you kid.

I had a great time

… at the Precision Machined Products Association annual meeting this week and late last in San Diego. Our get together was held at the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island, about 7 miles from the airport, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. San Diego is home to the 2nd largest Naval Base in the United States which was apparent as I took a boat tour of the South Harbor. It is home to destroyers, cruisers, aircraft carries and other great ships of our naval force. The weather is near perfect in San Diego, 70’s to near 80 during the day, upper 50’s low 60’s at night. Pretty much perfect, I did not see a cloud during the day all week.

What was confirmed to me this weekend

Obamacare is a huge entitlement, to be funded by taxing the American people. It is a huge re-distribution of wealth. It’s alright though, so take heart. We need to let this monstrosity do its thing for the next year. My prayer is that over that next year, those people who voted for Obama, one or both times, get it shoved up their rear ends (and they will). Those of us who saw it coming should not be the only ones to get screwed (and we won’t). Everyone loses in this piece of legislation, except the politicians and their staff who, of course, remain exempt. It’s a very bad joke.

Check out the PMPA

I encourage any readers who are in the precision machining industry to check out the PMPA if you are not currently members. We are proponents of creating a healthy middle class for skilled machinists through continuing education and job experience, and to protect our members and our country politically through our PAC. There is available a wealth of knowledge and help from those who earn a living the same way you do … blood, sweat and tears.

More next week

I will catch up on economic news next week, sorry for the short View this week. Just not into it. I got home around 9:30 Tuesday night, rained all day Wednesday and I had about 5 or 6 inches of snow on my car yesterday morning. Average temp in Cleveland is 60 degrees this time of year. I hate the cold weather…..Cabo is right around the corner.
