US raw steel production

… dropped back 1.1 percent last week as mills operated at an Average Capability Utilization Rate (ACUR) of 76.5 percent. In the corresponding week last year mills operated at an ACUR of 76.2 percent, according to the American Iron & Steel Institute, Washington. Thus far this year mills have operated at an ACUR of 76.5 percent down 0.8 percent from the same period last year.

Malaysia Airlines

Over the weekend a large bodied Boeing 777 aircraft took off from Malaysia and just disappeared. Initial reports said the plane took an abrupt turn off course and radar contact was lost. There are two transponders on the plane both of which relay data in real time as to the planes’ status. Both were turned off. No signs of an ocean crash have been found; in fact the Malaysian government has misled all of us with incorrect facts. On Wednesday it was revealed that cell phones of some passengers are still able to receive phone calls though no one answers. That kind of leads one to believe there was not hard water landing-wet cell phones do not work, as you may know from personal experience. Another question: all cell phones have GPS chips in them. If there are, in fact, operable phones, why can’t we track the location? Something is wrong.

Hardship Mandate Exemption

This gets worse by the day. On March 12, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius testified in front of the House Ways and Means Committee and was asked about “Obamacare’s Secret Mandate Exemption” exposed by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.

The hardship exemption was part of the law from the outset,” the Secretary said. “There was a specific rationale there and it starts with the notion that if you can’t afford coverage you are not obligated to buy coverage.”

WHAT??? The whole idea of this law was to give health care coverage to those who could not afford it. You may recall I asked in a prior View “If people who are uninsured because they cannot afford the premiums or choose not to spend their money on health care insurance, how could mandating they purchase such coverage suddenly make it affordable to them?” In other words, the people for whom the law was intended to extend coverage still cannot afford it and are not obligated to purchase it. But you and are required to purchase it, you and I cannot keep our insurance plan; you and I cannot keep our doctor. Obama can keep his plan and he can keep his doctor. This is a bad joke.

Also on March 12, the President of the United States had the temerity to suggest that people who are complaining about the cost of premiums should re-examine their priorities, and offered suggestions to cancel their satellite television or do without their cell phones. I heard and saw the interview with my own eyes and ears, just unbelievable! Now the government wants to dictate to hard working Americans on what they should be spending their hard earned pay. Take heed my friends, November is only 8 months or so away. WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE ALL OF OUR LIKE THINKING AMERICANS TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 4, 2014. Redistribution of wealth is not what Americans aspire to. Socialism does NOT work. The government should NOT be suggesting how you spend YOUR income. This is all wrong, wrong, wrong…..in my view.

Ping….Ping….Ping…. and so goes the search for flight 370, at this time, Friday afternoon, March 14, no evidence has been located. It now appears the plane stayed in the air for some four or five hours after takeoff….but we don’t know where it was headed.

Spying on our Allies, specifically Angela Merkel of Germany. No one held accountable. The president was unaware. (although these things go on knowingly between countries all the time, the fact that our president denies knowledge of this is just another sign of his incompetence as the leader of the most powerful country on the planet).
