US raw steel production down from previous week
In the week ending August 8, 2026, US raw steel production was 1,820,000 net tons at an ACUR of 78.8 percent, this is down 2.7 percent from the previous week ending August 1, 2026.
Adjusted YTD production through August 8, 2026 was 57,330,000 net tons at an ACUR of 78.9 percent.
US drill rigs running up from one week ago
In the week ending August 14, 2026, there were 593 drill rigs running in the US, up five rigs from one week ago, up fifty-four rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers added three rigs, to 219, up thirty-six rigs from one year ago.

WNBA? What is going on with these women, better yet, what is going on in America that RACE or POLITICS has to be brought into every thing we do as a society? If you have a penis or HAD a penis, you should not be permitted to play women’s sports. A man’s body is DIFFERENT than a woman’s. I don’t give a crap how you feel or what you think, or what you do to yourself. It is biology. I have yet to watch a WNBA game, probably never will, but it is a game for women, hence “W”NBA. Stay out of it.
Iran seems to be running the show in Hormuz. How that happens is beyond me. They have demanded financial relief, a prohibition on US and Israeli warships in the strait, while the US has refused to entertain an agreement that allows Tehran to place impediments on shipping. Did you read this? How are they calling the shots? This is a rogue nation, they cannot have a nuclear weapon-period. Leadership is nuts, unbalanced, crazy, if you will, and they would use the weapons. Chants of “death to America” and “death to Israel” are not idle threats, they are very real. That being said, they must be stopped. I do not understand why the president puts up with this nonsense, these animals have to be destroyed.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the University of Michigan will DROP grades for first semester freshmen next year in an effort to “curb the mental health crisis unfolding among college-aged individuals,” according to the school. What? How much coddling do these young adults need? Will mommy still wipe their butts for them? Cut their food and feed them? What are we creating here?
