Small business optimism index fell in October

The NFIB Small Business Optimism index fell to 98.2 in October, the second consecutive decline that brought small business sentiment back to its weakest point since April. Outlooks are still brighter than before the 2024 election, but a lack of qualified labor combined with deteriorating sales and profits appears to weigh on economic expectations. The government shutdown is over after 43 days, and the Democrats, who instigated this, did NOT get what they wanted. The ACA is a waste of money, and the Democrats knew healthcare premiums would explode over time as they forced it down our throats. It was they who legislated the end of the Covid-era subsidies for the end of 2025, but they wanted to continue funding this boondoggle. They wanted the ACA to become a one-payer system so the government would control healthcare. Take a look at Canada, or England, their systems suck ass. We do NOT want that here in the States. Republicans need to offer a better option, and soon.

They are reporting the information they get, which is temporary, and will be for a while as the country recovers from the 42 day shutdown. What a bunch of self-serving morons. I assure you that before too long, jobs will appear, wages will rise, attitudes will turn positive.

TEDDY ROOSEVELT ON IMMIGRANTS IN AMERICA…1907

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
