Dow futures are up
Dow futures are up 544 points at 9am, in pre-market trading Friday morning, on news from Iran that the Strait of Hormuz is open to commercial shipping during the ceasefire. Oil prices have dropped 10 percent on this news also.
Personally, I don’t trust the mullahs as far as I can throw them. they have been lying for 50 years. I do realize that President Trump is the first to threaten them and follow through. Iran has taken a huge beating over the course of this military operation, and they have deserved it. I hope we stick with the plan, do not extend the ceasefire and demand they meet our terms: unconditional surrender.
Us raw steel production up from previous week
In the week ending April 11, 2026, US raw steel production was 1,843,000 net tons at an ACUR of 79.8 percent, up 0.7 percent from the previous week ending April4, 2026.
Adjusted YTD production through April 11, 2026 was 25,871,000 net tons at an ACUR of 77.5 percent.

US drill rigs running down from previous week
There were 543 drill rigs running in the US last week, down two rigs from the previous week, down forty-two rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers shut 5 rigs, to 130, down four rigs from one year ago.

What and how many weapons do the Iranians have left that they are able to control Hormuz, and now Saudi Arabia is warning Iran may retaliate by blockading the0 Bab al-Mandeb, a Red Sea choke point crucial for Saudi Arabia’s remaining oil exports. How will they do this? Does no one else have military capability but the United States?
The slime ball, Eric Swalwell, former congressman and former California gubernatorial candidate was forced to with draw his candidacy and resign his congressional seat as a result of reports he raped an physically abused at least two staff employees, This couldn’t happen to a better worm. He is a liar, a sleazeball and unworthy of holding any public office. I believe he was Nancy Pelosi’s golden boy and I am confident she was instrumental in his withdrawal. Good riddance. What a piece of shit.
