CFNAI decreased in April

CFNAI decreased in April. The Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) decreased to -0..25 in April from +0.03 in March. Three of the four broad categories of indicators used to construct the index decreased from March, and three categories made negative contributions in April. The index’s three-month moving average (CFNAI-MA3, was unchanged at +0.05 in April.

US raw steel production down from previous week     

In the week ending May 17, 2025, US raw steel production was 1,720,000 net tons at an ACUR of76.6 percent, down 1.1 percent from the previous week ending May 10, 2025.

Adjusted YTD production through May 17, was 32,786,000 net tons at an ACUR of 75.0 percent.

US drill rigs running down from previous week

There were 576 drill rigs running in the US last week, down two rigs from the previous week, down twenty-eight rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers added seven rigs to 121, up seven rigs from one year ago.

The Democratic corruption just gets better and better. It was reported over the weekend that Joe Biden has stage 4 prostate cancer. Undoubtedly another play for sympathy. This guy has been playing “oh woe is me” for 50 years in government. Is this to distract from the brewing calamity of his collapsed administration? Who was running our government while his dementia progressed? How is it possible that only conservatives saw this deterioration? Democrat lawmakers and news makers all defended Biden as “sharp as a tack,”  “he runs circles around his staff,” “the best version of Joe Biden…”and now cancer which he has apparently had for years.
Another secret he and the Democrats kept from the American people in order to retain power. Woodrow Wilson’s wife did the same thing for him. It wasn’t right to do after WWI and it’s not right now, 100 years later.
By the way,  it is obvious the doctors were instructed not to report this news, there is no other way they could miss it, aside from obfuscation. This must be investigated and not be permitted to happen again. What a terrible scam the Bidens have pulled on the American people…again. I have zero sympathy for this SOB, or his family as they are all complicit.
The “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed the House in the wee hours of Thursday, and will now move to the Senate, where it will undoubtedly be sliced and diced…but we are headed in the right direction.
