Durable goods orders rose in March after a sharp decline at the end of winter. Excluding defense, orders of durable goods rose 1.2%

Real GDP DECREASED in Q1 2022

Real gross domestic Product (GDP) DECREASED at an annualized rate of 1.4 percent in Q1 2022, following a pandemic related 6.9 percent rise in Q4 2021.

Anyone with a brain knew this would happen. The economy was extremely strong when covid appeared and the markets all crashed. Common sense would dictate all that business did not just disappear, it remained, frozen in place, waiting for the thaw. Once we got our house in order, the market took off again.

Now, one- and one-half years later, we see the results of progressive Democratic policies which are racking our economy. Of course, Democrats falsely took credit for the rising numbers, but they will blame Trump or covid for the dismal results we are now experiencing.

CFNAI Moved Down in March

The Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) moved down to +0.44 in March from +0.54 in February. Three of the four broad categories of indicators used to construct the index made positive contributions in March. The index’s three-month moving average, CFNAI-MA3, increased to +0.57 in March.

What do the numbers mean? A zero value for the monthly index has been associated with the national economy expanding at its historical trend (average) rate of growth; negative values with below-average growth (in standard deviation units); and positive values with above-average growth.

Periods of economic expansion have historically been associated with values of the CFNAI-MA3 above –0.70 and the CFNAI Diffusion Index above –0.35. Conversely, periods of economic contraction have historically been associated with values of the CFNAI-MA3 below –0.70 and the CFNAI Diffusion Index below –0.35.

An increasing likelihood of a period of sustained increasing inflation has historically been associated with values of the CFNAI-MA3 above +0.70 more than two years into an economic expansion. Similarly, a substantial likelihood of a period of sustained increasing inflation has historically been associated with values of the CFNAI-MA3 above +1.00 more than two years into an economic expansion.

Texas Manufacturing Activity Expanded at a Moderate Pace in April

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released its April 2022 Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey and reports Texas manufacturing activity expanded at a moderate pace in April, according to business executives responding to the Texas Outlook Survey.

Perceptions of broader business conditions were a bit mixed in April and expectations regarding future manufacturing activity generally eased but remained positive.

US Raw Steel Production Up from Previous Week

In the week ending April 23, US raw steel production was 1,784,000 net tons at an ACUR of 81.7 percent, up 1.0 percent from the previous week.

US Drill Rigs Running Up from Previous Week

There were 695 drill rigs running in the US last week, up two rigs from the previous week, up 257 rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers dropped another two rigs, to 101. Still up 46 rigs from one year ago.

The Southern Border Remains Open

Our southern border remains wide open to all who seek to suckle off the teat of America; to be fed, housed, clothed, educated, given medical care and the right to vote-Non-citizens!
These people will never go through the immigration and naturalization protocols to become Americanized. They offer no real benefit to our society. Most are merely parasites, but they will gladly vote Democratic to keep the goodies coming. It sickens me.

The Continuing Ukraine War

The war continues in Ukraine, people have become numb to the news. This is a fight for freedom, the same freedom early Americans fought and died for in order to preserve liberty and freedom. It is incumbent on freedom loving people to lend a hand in their effort. I do not care to see US boots on the ground in Ukraine, I do not seek a war with Russia, but if he is permitted to get away with this, he will seek to conquer others. Our oceans no longer protect us from tyranny.

Musk to Buy Twitter

Twitter has accepted Elon Musk’s offer to purchase the company. The deal should be settled before year’s end.

Accusations of the company being run by “old white guys,” how it will block the tweets of the Democratic opponents, how it will censor liberal thought. “Special Districts”

I found the following article in the WSJ in reference to the recently popular news that Disney operates its own government, can build roads and bridges, even a nuclear power plant, they can levy taxes. The irony is that there are some 38,000 “Special Districts” in our country, double the number of cities in the country! Florida alone has 1800 such districts.

“Special districts are an increasing burden to taxpayers. They intentionally keep their accounting obscure, but by one estimate they collectively spend more than $200 billion annually. It is probably an underestimate, since we know California districts alone spend $76 billion. In Nassau County, NY, 140 different special districts cost the average taxpayer $1,000 per year in property taxes.

It is past time voters brought these districts to heel and brought their functions under control of regular cities and counties.

The Washington State Legislature passed a law in 2020 dissolving districts that couldn’t account for their funds. Unless other states follow its lead, taxpayers will have to bear an increasing burden from unaccountable entities they barely know exists.” Judge Glock WSJ 4/26/22

On Thursday, the idiot was touting his policies for small business. He said last year had the greatest small business growth in history. Bullshit. Wanna know why? Because the lockdowns drove so many small businesses into bankruptcy and these young entrepreneurs would not be kept down for long, so they created new businesses. The idiot really has no idea of how to create a good business policy.

Moderna Vaccine for Children 6 months to 5 years

Moderna is seeking approval to inject babies from 6 months of age through 5 years with their covid vaccine. This is a blatant money grab. Then come the boosters. Babies and children are pretty much immune or suffer mild symptoms if the virus should get them. Yes, there are always exceptions, but they are far from the majority. I would never subject my children to something like this, never.

College Loan Forgiveness …

How are you going to feel when the idiot in the Oval Office eliminates some or all existing college tuition debt? Did you pay your education debt off? Don’t expect a refund, you have already been screwed. And why, pray tell, are the Democrats doing this? Votes…
