Inflation hits three-year high in May 2026

Inflation hits three-year high. Year-over year inflation was 4.2% in May, largely due to oil prices from the Iran conflict. The rise in the CPI was in line with expectations. Beyond the gas pumps though, there were fewer signs of quickly rising prices.

US raw steel production up from previous week

In the week ending June 6, 2026, US raw steel production was 1,877,000 net tons at an ACUR of 81.3 percent, up 0.3 percent from the previous week ending May 30, 2026.
Adjusted YTD production through June 6, 2026 was 40,690,000 net tons at an ACUR of 78.5 percent.

US drill rigs running down from previous week

In the week ending June 12, 2026, there were 562 drill rigs running in the US, down one rig from the previous week ending June 5, 2026. This is up 7 rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers added eleven rigs last week, to 180, up 42 rigs from one year ago.

They are still counting votes in Los Angeles. What manner of incompetence is this? Are they figuring ways to cheat? After what Karen Bass has done to that city, why would the people vote for her? Again? Utterly ridiculous. Lie, cheat and steal, that is all the Democrats do. Why? Because they offer no solutions to any of the problems we face as a nation. None. Can you name a policy presented by the Democrats that is worth pursuing? I can’t. Spencer Pratt, her opponent, is pretty close in the polls, he has a good message. He lost his home in the Pacific Palisades fire, and still awaits permitting to rebuild his home. That’s why he is running, to effect change in this once great city.

Iran shot down an Apache attack helicopter overnight Tuesday.  Fortunately, the two pilots escaped and were rescued within a couple hours by a sea-drone. The first rescue of its kind. Trump ordered a military response and my hope is he just finishes the job, these guys are just bad actors and frankly, they need to be eliminated from existence. Not the Iranian people, the regime and its radical members.

The United States military is back on the attack in Iran, let’s hope they do not stop until the regime has capitulated. Give ‘em hell!

Trump stayed his orders to fire on Iran-again. I understand why he does this, I think he is the only person who agrees with the decision. These thugs will NOT honor ANY agreement, the president knows this, yet he persists in placating them. He should finish the job and be done with it.

The SpaceX IPO happened today, it opened at $135 per share, last I heard, about 3pm, it was trading at $170. I am going to keep my powder dry for a while and wait until the frenzy settles before I jump in. It is a good long play investment, buy it and forget about it. Your children or grandchildren will benefit.

Supposedly there is a deal on the table with the Iranian regime, though Thursday night they fired drones at commercial ship in the strait. These were destroyed by the US military.
