General Business Conditions Index Largest Monthly Decline on Record
The headline general business conditions index largest monthly decline on record plummeted twenty-six points in June, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Empire State Manufacturing Survey for June 2019 and business activity took a sharp downturn, according to firms responding to the survey. New orders receded while shipments increased modestly. Delivery times and inventories moved slightly lower.
US Drill Rigs Running Declined Last Week
The number of drill rigs running in the US declined by 6 to 969. Meanwhile Canadian drilling moved up to 107, rising by 4.
US Raw Steel Production at ACUR of 81.1%
In the week ending June 15 US raw steel production was 1,887,000 tons as mills ran at an ACUR of 81.1 percent. Thus far this year, mills have produced prox 44,997,000 tons compared to the prox 42,472,000 tons produced in the like period last year.
Housing Starts Dropped 0.9% in May
Despite the drop there are a few rays of sunshine within the report as prior months data were revised higher and single-family permits rose for the first time in six months. Wells Fargo
Interest Rates Steady
On Wednesday the FOMC held interest rates steady but is prepared to cut interest rates if the economic outlook dims.
The Conference Board May 2019 Leading Economic Index (LEI) Unchanged
There was a 0.1 percent April increase and a 0.2 percent March increase.
The US LEI was unchanged in May, following three consecutive increases,” said Ataman Ozyildirim, Director of Economic Research at the Conference Board. “Positive contributions from financial conditions and consumers’ outlook offset the weakness in stock prices and the manufacturing sector…while the economic expansion is now entering its eleventh year, the longest in US history, the LEI clearly points to a moderation in growth towards 2 percent by year end.”
Business Outlook Survey Reports Weakened Manufacturing Conditions
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its June 2019 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey and reports manufacturing conditions weakened during the month. The current activity index declined to a reading just above zero. The survey’s indexes for new orders, shipments and employment remained positive but did decline from their May readings. Most of the survey’s future activity indexes improved but continue to reflect muted optimism for the remainder of the year.

Reparations Discussions in the House
On Wednesday the idiots we have in the House of Representatives actually took time to discuss slavery reparations for black Americans. This is complete idiocy, especially because it is ONLY PANDERING for the black vote, they do not really give a good crap. We have thousands of illegals entering our country, receiving financial help, healthcare etc. on the backs of working Americans. We have brave men and women fighting in Afghanistan and Syria, troops on the South Korean border with North Korea, the continuing threat of a nuclear Iran…I could continue, the point is, reparations are what they spend their time on? AND WE PAY THESE MORONS!
DRAIN THE SWAMP
I love the USA and I am very proud to be an American citizen. I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood, born in 1951. I was free to learn, free to play, free to explore. My classmates and I recited the Pledge of Allegiance every day prior to the start of class. No one ever thought of burning our flag, it would have been a disgrace. We were taught what Independence Day meant, what Thanksgiving Day meant, Memorial Day and Labor Day and we all celebrated Christmas or Hanukkah-or both. No one considered a way of life other than the way our society was; capitalist, you can attain whatever you want if you will put in the necessary effort. We respected our parents and elders, we opened doors for women, old and young, we said “yes sir” and “yes ma’am” “no sir” and “no ma’am”…family life was truly as it was portrayed on “Leave it to Beaver” or “Ozzie and Harriet”…I loved those days, those memories. My wife and I did our best to raise our children in the same atmosphere, although by the 1970’s things were dramatically changed and changing every day.
Today, I fear for my children and grandchildren and the world in which they live. Socialism? It is unbelievable that these left-wing radicals are so very close to getting what they want, right here in the Land of the Free, the Home of the Brave. The United States is THE beacon of freedom on planet earth. Recall the words “What will you do without freedom?” (Mel Gibson as William Wallace in “Braveheart”). If this relatively young experiment in freedom fails, to what will we regress? A world of suppression and domination. You will do what you are told to do, you will behave as you are told to behave, you will have what you are given, nothing more. There will be no need to feed your desire to excel, to do and be better a better person.
But NO, I must believe that true Americans who see and understand this will NOT allow it to happen. 2 ½ years ago I said the wolves were at the door, they were-and still are, hungrier than then. I thank God for Donald J. Trump. The liberal mainstream media has created a distorted picture of this man, when the reality of who he is and what he wants to do for this country can be seen in the policies he has managed to institute for us, despite being unduly reviled, lied about and attacked seemingly 24 hours a day, every day, every week, every month, every year. It is a testament to his character and his noble intentions that he remains to serve us and seeks to continue doing so. Why? Because he KNOWS he is right, he KNOWS he has God on his side. We are all soldiers of freedom and we must fight for him to keep what we enjoy.
Today, Friday, the Summer Solstice arrived at 11:54am…I hope the excessive rain stops here in the Midwest and we can enjoy a few months of warm, sunny weather.
