LEI weakened in January

LEI weakened in January, declining 0.3% following an upwardly revised 0.1% increase in December according to The Conference Board Leading Economic Index.

Consumers’ assessments of future business conditions turned more pessimistic in January, which alongside fewer weekly hours worked, drove the decline.” Said the Conference Board’s Justyna Zabinska-LaMonica.

Manufacturing orders have almost stabilized after weighing heavily since 2022. The LEI’s six month and annual growth rates trended upwards, signaling milder obstacles to economic activity ahead.

Headline News

The so called “democrats” are losing their minds with Trump and Musk. “Hitler,” “dictator,” and whatever nasty things they can think of. I find it disturbing that trying to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse from the federal government is so distasteful to them. Why do you suppose that is? Because their years of waste, fraud and abuse is finally being exposed. Of course. Harry Truman once said something to the effect of “any politician who becomes a millionaire while in office, is a crook.” Truer words were never spoken.

These idiots have not learned one thing from the thrashing they took in November’s general election. They keep this crap up, against the will of the people, and they will not win an election for many years, which is as it should be. They do nothing positive for the country, and in fact they are a detriment. In my 74 years I have never seen Americans (?) behave in such a rude and distasteful manner. When Jesus entered the Temple in Jerusalem and called it a “den of thieves,” he could well have been speaking about people such as this.

TEDDY ROOSEVELT ON IMMIGRANTS IN AMERICA…1907

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
