Manufacturing activity expanded overall in the region per October 2024 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey released by The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, according to firms responding to the survey. The survey’s indicators for current general activity, new orders, and shipments all rose, with the latter two returning to positive territory this month.

The LEI fell 0.4 percent in October, following a 0.3% decline in September, matching expectations of economists polled by the Wall Street Journal.
“The largest negative contributor to the LEI’s decline came from manufacturer new orders, which remained weak in 11 of 14 industries.
US Raw Steel Production Down from One Year Ago
In the week ending November 16, 2024, US raw steel production was 1,623,000 net tons at an ACUR of 73.1 percent, down3.8 percent from one year ago.
Adjusted year-to-date production through November 16, 2024 was 77,383,000 net tons at an ACUR of 76.0 percent.
US Drill Rigs Running Down from Prior Week
There were 584 drill rigs running in the US last week, down one rig from the prior week, and down thirty-four rigs from one year ago. In Canada, our friends closed seven rigs, to 200, up four rigs from one year ago.

The Biden administration has given Ukraine permission to use US made long range missiles capable of hitting targets deeper in Russia, they began by targeting and ammunition depot. Putin is not happy nor is Donald Trump, as Biden makes this move just two months before the end of his term. This will certainly muddy the waters for the incoming president, who wants the war there to end. Politically motivated decision from Biden? A distinct possibility.
Trump’s cabinet appointments are certainly drawing criticism from both sides of the aisle. Matt Gaetz, the choice for attorney general, has been accused, but not charged with having sex with a minor, and Pete Hegseth, the choice for Secretary of Defense has been accused of, but not charged, with “raping” a married woman after a speech he made some years ago. Both men should be closely vetted, as should all appointments to government positions.
Wednesday, I am heartbroken watching and listening to the closing arguments in the Laken Riley murder trial. She was a promising nursing student who was senselessly murdered by an animal, an illegal migrant permitted to enter this country by the Biden administration. That poor little girl’s blood is on THEIR hands. How many other innocent Americans have been murdered, beaten, robbed or raped by people who should not be in the USA? And yet today, the border is still wide open, criminals, terrorists and others cross freely into our country. Anyway, listening to her family, friends and classmates cry for the loss of their daughter, is heart wrenching, and each proclamation brought me to tears. This animal, Ibarra, should be tortured close to death for a long period of time, and left to suffer. Instead, he gets life without parole. We have to feed him, shelter him, give him medical care. Is that justice? I think not.
On Thursday, Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination to be Attorney General. Probably not a bad thing.
Also on Thursday, a scumbag progressive judge in Chicago (go figure) overturned Jussie Smollett’s conviction for a staged hate crime. He walks free on a technicality, even though he was proven to be, and found guilty of the crime. Justice? I think not.
Two illegals have been busted for raping a child in Massachusetts, ironically, the progressive governor of that state says she WILL NOT assist in the deportation of illegal immigrants. She should be impeached and thrown out, in my view.
In another twist of progressive nonsense, the administration has created an app which will allow illegal immigrants to BYPASS the vetting process for entry. These pigs have not learned a thing from their utter election defeat. Americans do NOT want this progressive bullshit.
Thursday evening Trump nominated Pam Bondi to the position of Attorney General, this after Gaetz withdrew his nomination for that position. She is tough, has the necessary experience and will fix the Justice Department. A very good choice.
