Most Future Indicators Rose
Most future indicators rose as expectations for growth over the next six months were more widespread. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its October 2024 Manufacturing Business Outlook survey results and reports manufacturing activity in the region expanded overall. The survey’s indicators for current general activity, new orders and shipments all rose, with the latter two returning to positive territory this month.
Empire Manufacturing Outlook Reports Business Activity Contracted Modestly in September 2024
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York released its Empire State Manufacturing Outlook survey results and reports business activity contracted modestly in September, according to firms responding to the October 2024 survey. After climbing into positive territory last month, the headline general business conditions index retreated twenty-three points. New orders fell, and shipments edged lower. Delivery times were slightly shorter, while supply availability deteriorated somewhat. Despite the weakness in general business conditions, optimism about the six-month outlook grew strongly. The reason for this, in my opinion, Donald J. Trump. If he does not win the presidency, along with the House and the Senate, our economy will be in the toilet, along with the rest of the free world.
US Raw Steel Production Up from Previous Week
In the week ending October 12, 2024, US raw steel production was 1,620,000 net tons at an ACUR of 72.9 percent, a 2.6 percent decrease from the same period last year. Production for the week is up 0.9 percent from the previous week. Adjusted year-to-date production through October 12 was 69,438,000 net tons at an ACUR of 76.5 percent, down 1.7 percent from one year ago.
US Drill Rigs Running Up from Previous Week
There were 586 drill rigs running in the US last week, up two rigs from the previous week.

A third assassination attempt on Donald Trump was thwarted by the police last Saturday after a Las Vegas man was arrested with weapons and fake passes about a half mile from Trump’s campaign rally in Coachella Vally, Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco said Sunday. The man was found to be in possession of a shotgun, loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine. Deputies thwarted the plan when the suspect presented fake ID’s and passes at a checkpoint.
The Israeli’s got another one, the piece of shit, yaya sinwar, who was the architect of the October 7 massacre in Israel, was killed in an attack on Thursday in Rafah. No virgins for him, just the fires of hell.
