Most ISM components rose
Most ISM components rose during the month, according to The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing ISM Report on Business which reports the index rose to 48.7 in August but remained in contraction for the sixth straight month. Of the five components that feed into the headline composite the measure of current production was the only one to decline.
US raw steel production down from previous week
In the week ending August 30, 2025, US raw steel production was 1,769,000 net tons at an ACUR of 78.1 percent, down 0.6 percent from the previous week ending August 23, 2025.
Adjusted YTD production was 59,469,000 net tons through August 30, 2025. The ACUR was 76.7 percent.
US drill rigs running down from previous week
There were 536 drill rigs running in the US last week, down two rigs from the previous week, down forty-seven rigs from one year ago. Canadian drillers shut five rigs, to175, down forty-five rigs from one year ago.

I dislike them.
Leftist judges in the lower courts have put injunctions on the tariffs levied by president Trump. This is political lawfare. They will remain in place until October 15, 2025 to give the administration time to appeal. Appeal he will and I suspect he will win on appeal. These jerk-offs need to do something worthwhile, this is ridiculous.
