Supply/Demand Balance
Supply/demand balance in manufacturing comes with appropriate tension levels between new orders and deliveries. According to the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing ISM Report on Business for August 2022. Economic activity in the manufacturing sector grew in August, with the overall economy achieving a 27th consecutive month of growth, say the nation’s supply executives inn the latest report.
The report was issued 9/1/22 by Timothy R. Fiore, CPSM, CPM, Chair of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Manufacturing Business Survey Committee:
The August Manufacturing PMI registered 52.8 percent, the same reading as recorded in July. This figure indicates expansion in the overall economy for the 27th month in a row after contraction in April and May 2020. For a second straight month, the Manufacturing PMI figure is the lowest since June 2020, when it registered 52.4 percent.
The US manufacturing sector continues expanding at rates similar to the prior two months. New orders returned to expansion levels, supplier deliveries remain at appropriate tension levels and prices softened again, reflecting movement toward supply/demand balance.”
Texas Factory Activity Abated in August
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released its August 2022 Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey results and reports growth in Texas factory activity abated in August, according to business executives responding to the survey.
The production index, a key measure of state manufacturing conditions ticked down to a reading suggestive of very little change in output. Other measures of manufacturing activity signaled slower growth or declines this month.
US Raw Steel Production Down from Previous Week
In the week ending 8/27/22, US raw steel production was 1,747,000 net tons at an ACUR of 79.3 percent, down 0.5 percent from the previous week.
US Drill Rigs Running Up from Previous Week
There were 765 drill rigs running in the US last week, up 3 rigs from the previous week, up 257 rigs from one year ago. Canada’s operational drill rig count remains at 201 and has not changed in the past two weeks. The count of 201 is up 54 rigs from one year ago.

President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan will mostly benefit the elites. The majority of loans are held by college graduates, who on average will make $1 million more in their lives than people who don’t have a degree. How did progressives-who claim to care about the poor and working class, about fairness and equity-end up pushing a bailout for the wealthy at working people’s expense?
Well, consider who progressives are-the whitest and most highly educated members of the democratic coalition. They are advancing their own economic interests, and there is nothing wrong with that. But they’re doing it under a false pretense, casting it as a moral battle for the indigent.
The green agenda fits the pattern too. Progressives zip around in Teslas, a symbol of both affluence and virtue, while union members in the energy sector lose their jobs.
Progressives push to release mentally ill drug addicts into working class communities where they prey on vulnerable people of color-while they themselves live in nice neighborhoods with astronomical rents, polishing their halos.
Student loan forgiveness isn’t an aberration. It’s the apotheosis of today’s progressivism, which is devoted to transferring wealth upward.”

Meanwhile, in the waning hot days of summer, he is asking Californians to turn their thermostats to 80 degrees, unplug unused appliances-and for God’s sake, do NOT charge your electric vehicle.

What is this guy thinking? Who writes this crap for him? The speech for the “Soul of America” was a declaration of war on at least half of this country’s citizens. Once again, everything he accuses conservatives of doing is what these Marxists ARE doing. What “force” is burning and looting besides BLM and antifa? Don’t tell me January 6. If they ever investigate fully, they will find the FBI and complicit democrats at the root of the protest. No police officers were killed, as they like to say. One did die of a heart attack or stroke, he was not bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher, as they like to say. Only one person was killed, an unarmed female veteran. We still do not know who shot her or why. It would be very easy to take each one of his accusations and show the facts of where it is, in fact, the accused who are innocent, not the accusers, for they are guilty.
It is now confirmed that elements in the White House have and are bringing pressure to bear on large corporations to censor freedom of speech or anything “they” consider against what “they” want said. That is against the First Amendment to our Constitution. These are very bad people, un-American in all ways.
Today, Friday, is VJ Day, Victory over Japan, the day the Japanese accepted the terms of unconditional surrender to the United States, ending World War II. God bless our veterans, both the living and the fallen, for making the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.
