Government shutdown depressed GDP. The second estimate of fourth quarter 2025 GDP came in at .7 percent, as with the initial estimate, this is a result of the government shutdown, a ploy of the progressive Democrats. You should recall that third quarter GDP was 4.4 percent and we were on our way.
Now we are in another Democrat-caused government shutdown and the first quarter numbers will also be skewed in a downward direction. This obvious hatred for Trump is insidious, dangerous and unhealthy for the country. DHS employees have been without pay for 7 weeks now, that is $1 BILLION in income for them spread over various departments, yet they continue to perform their duties.

And again, members of Congress continue to collect their pay, which to me is a disgusting display. Has no one in either chamber any honor?

March 2026 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey reports manufacturing activity continued to expand overall

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia released its March 2026 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey results and reports manufacturing activity in the region continued to expand overall, according to firms responding to the survey. The survey’s indicator for general activity remained elevated. The new orders index moved down but remained positive, and the shipments index moved higher. The employment index returned to positive territory and continued to suggest steady employment.

The Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) decreased in February

The Chicago Fed National Activity Index (CFNAI) decreased to -0.11 in February from +0.20 in January.Two of the four broad categories of indicators used to construct the index decreased from January, and three categories made negative contributions in February. The index’s three-month moving average (CFNAI-MA3) increased to -0.01 in February from -0.02 in January.

US raw steel production up from previous week

In the week ending March 21, 2026, US raw steel production was 1,781,000 net tons at an ACUR of 77.0 percent, up 0.4 percent from the previous week ending March 14, 2026.
adjusted YTD production through March 21, 2026 was 20,394,000 net tons at an ACUR of 77.2 percent, up 4.9 percent from the same period one year ago.

I have been ruminating about these idiots we have in the Congress who seem to enjoy making the American people suffer because they cannot get their shit together to do their job. At least 80 percent of the American people approve of the need for voter ID to vote, a major part of the SAVE America Act, now stuck in Congress.

 

The Democrats want ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, gone. Why they are against the removal of those here illegally, and also against voter ID is clear; they want more voters and they don’t want them to prove they are citizens in order for them to vote. Is this the American way? Absolutely not. To prove their point, they have withheld funding for the Department of Homeland Security. TSA has been working (and many other government offices) without PAY, for three weeks now. Those service workers suffer, as do the American people. We are all at risk. The lines at the airports are ridiculous, but senators and representatives are escorted to the head of the line, plus, they continue to get paid. This is a travesty, and utter bullshit.

 

When Congress chooses to shut down the government, THEIR pay should be stopped, not that of essential services. Why must the people suffer for their ineptitude?</
It borders on comical to hear the fat prick governor Pritzker of Illinois and Johnson, the racist, illiterate mayor of Chicago, blame the woe of their respective city and state on Donald Trump. I am referring now to the recent murder of an 18 year old Loyola University student, shot in the neck by an illegal immigrant residing in the sanctuary city of Chicago, within the state of Illinois. The sad fact is, they believe their own bullshit and refuse to accept accountability for their failed policies. Pritzker is done, he has his sights set on the White House, and God help us if he gets anywhere near the Oval Office. Johnson is a total loser and waste of time. We thought Lori Lightfoot was bad, Johnson makes her look saintly. What are the people of Illinois and Chicago in particular, thinking?
