Manufacturing Activity Expands Overall
Manufacturing activity expands overall according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia May 2022 Manufacturing Business Outlook Survey. It reports manufacturing activity in the region continued to expand overall this month, according to firms responding to the survey. The current general activity index declined, while the indicators for new orders and shipments rose.
US Drill Rigs Running Up 9 From Previous Week
There were 714 drill rigs running in the US last week, up 9 rigs from the previous week, 261 more than one year ago. Meanwhile, Canadian drillers shuttered three more rigs, to 88, up 29 rigs from one year ago.
US Raw Steel Production Up From Previous Week
In the week ending 5/14/22, US raw steel production was 1,785,000 net tons at an ACUR of 81.8 percent, up 0.5 percent from the previous week.
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York May 2022 Empire State Manufacturing Survey:
after growing strongly in April, business activity declined in New York State, according to firms responding to the survey. The headline general business conditions index dropped thirty-six points. New orders declined and shipments fell at the fastest pace since early in the pandemic.
Southern Border Remains Open
Our southern border remains open to all who care to enter our country; criminals, terrorists, rapists, murderers. You name it, they are pouring in with no end in sight and most definitely with a bad outcome.
The invasion going on at our southern border is criminal. War in Ukraine
The war in Ukraine continues with Russia not making much headway and the USA sending more and more in weaponry and money to aid the Ukrainian quest for liberty.
Crime
What is causing the huge crime wave that is consuming our country? Rampant progressivism, that’s what. The left does not care about crime, they want it, it destroys the moral fabric of our country. From the Judicial branch of government releasing known violent criminals back on the streets to the government itself, always blaming the gun and not the lack of mental capacity of the perpetrator, (is it not ironic that these shootings take place in Democratic controlled cities where the guns laws are the most stringent?) making laws which legalize theft, as in the “smash and grabs,” in Democratic controlled cities, towns and villages. This is insanity and we have allowed it to happen.
Venezuelan Oil
Now, the idiot in Washington wants to purchase oil from the dictator Maduro in Venezuela. Is this not counter-productive? We have enough oil and gas underfoot to supply much of the worlds needs, if not, at least our own. Additionally, Venezuelan oil is very dirty…it ain’t Texan or Alaskan, the envy of the world.
Recession
As usual with self-fulfilling prophecies, the geniuses on the news are predicting recession. Now you can count on it, although, if you have been around awhile, you already knew the train is headed our way.
Disinformation Governance Board
Quick as she came, the Mary Poppins of Disinformation unfurled her umbrella and floated away to her next job, nannying another nation of children who had the wrong ideas. Nina Jankowicz, age 33, was supposed to lead the Department of Homeland Security’s new Disinformation Governance Board.” WSJ
Only three weeks after announcing a plan to censor their political opponents, the Biden administration has “paused” this scam of a board. Plenty of push-back from citizens and both sides of the political aisle caused this to happen. After all, we are not a third world country-yet.
