Special Bar Quality (SBQ) Prices Have Risen $40.00/ton

Special Bar Quality (SBQ) prices have risen some $40.00/ton in the US as base price increases for June take hold, market sources have said. Lead times have extended significantly, stretching into September and beyond for certain bars larger than 3.000” in diameter, one distributor said.

Still, typical lead times for small diameter bar range into July and August. AMM

The number of drill rigs running in the US rose by six last week, led by North Dakota (up 3), as US drilling reached the highest level since April 17, 2015 when 954 rigs were in operation. At the same time Canadian drilling jumped by 27 rigs compared with the previous week.

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for May 2017 Reports the Index Increased in May

The Conference Board Leading Economic Index for May 2017, was released on Thursday and reports the index increased 0.3 percent in May following a 0.2 percent increase in April and a 0.4 percent increase in March.

The US LEI continued on its upward trend in May, suggesting the economy is likely to remain on, or perhaps even moderately above, its long term trend of about 2 percent growth for the remainder of the year,” said Ataman Ozildirim, Director of Business Cycles and Growth Research at the Conference Board. “The improvement was widespread among the majority of leading indicators, except for housing permits, which declined again. And, the average workweek in manufacturing has recently shown no sign of improvement.”

Otto Warmbier Passes

Otto Warmbier, imprisoned in North Korea for more than a year, was sent home last week, seemingly in a conscious coma, has passed away over the weekend. Rest in peace. There are, I believe, two more Americans still imprisoned in the shit hole of North Korea.

What are Americans doing in North Korea anyway? That’s like walking through fire and not expecting to get burned. All travel by Americans should be strictly prohibited. And what will our response be to the continuing violations of human rights under that pig dictators’ regime?

Special Elections Results

This is funny: After spending $31.2 million to try and steal an election in Georgia in America’s most expensive Congressional race ever, even going so far as putting forth a candidate who does not live in the district (Jon Ossoff), displaying all kinds of Hollywood stars etc., the Democrats lost the election( oh, boo hoo). They were hoping to win and shout out to the people that Trump had lost his mojo (NOT…oh, boo hoo). Guess what…I believe the democrat voters may be coming to the realization that the elites of the party are out only for themselves, not for the people who elected them, and that the Presidents’ agenda would actually be helpful to them. So much for the Dem’s plan “to demonstrate that grass roots, anti-Trump energy gives them a shot at taking control of the House in the 2018 midterm elections.” WSJ.

There was also a special election in South Carolina, also won by Republicans, which means Conservatives are 5 for 5 in special elections this year and reiterates what I presented as a possible awakening by Democrat voters to the realization of what the democrat party is NOT doing.

What a bunch of losers. They have nothing or no one to offer.

Just after midnight on Wednesday morning…summer began. We wish you all a safe and happy summer!

I will track these campaign promises and will check them off as each is accomplished adding those I have missed as they become apparent. This is quite an agenda and will be difficult to achieve all in one term but I believe the American people are behind him and know these things need to be done. Now, if he can get our legislators to support him instead of fighting him….

TEDDY ROOSEVELT ON IMMIGRANTS IN AMERICA…1907

In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag…We have room for but one language here and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
