Inflation is Declining, Reporting a Sixth Consecutive Monthly Drop
Inflation is declining. Running at a 6.5% annual rate, according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released Thursday, that is the sixth consecutive monthly decline, though still far from the fed’s 2% target, it is headed in the right direction.
US Raw Steel Production Down from Previous Week
In the week ending January 7, US raw steel production was 1,595,000 net tons at an ACUR of 71.3 percent, down 0.4 percent from the previous week.
US Drill Rigs Running Down from Previous Week
There were 772 drill rigs running in the US last week, down 7 from the previous week but up 184 rigs from one year ago. Meanwhile, Canadian drillers added 105 rigs last week, to 189, up 48 rigs from one year ago.

The idiot in the Oval Office stopped in El Paso, Texas over the weekend to check on the border. Before he landed, the entire city was cleaned, and the homeless and illegal immigrants removed. So, what did he see? Nothing of the reality, not that he would know it if he saw it. As I said last week, he has put forward a plan to create an app where asylum seekers can apply for entry from the comfort of their homes, in their home country. An effort to make it EASIER for illegal aliens to come here. Yeah, that will help. The Marxists do not want the border secure. In their minds the illegal immigrants are all future “democrat” voters.
The Republicans are making a big deal of the fact that they legislated a stop to Biden’s hiring of 87,000 IRS agents. The problem? It must pass in the Democrat-controlled senate and therefore, will go nowhere.
Classified documents have been found at the shady Penn-Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement office in Pennsylvania. Biden was VP at the time and the move is illegal. Trump, who declassified the documents found at his Mar A Lago estate did follow the law, yet the FBI raided his home. Will they raid Biden’s home? I doubt it. The left is already calling it a non-issue. As I have said before, the Marxists are always accusing conservatives of doing what they are in fact, doing. Ridiculous.
Now the moron governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, wants to ban natural gas stoves! What is she thinking? The consequences of a move like this would be incalculable. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, however, said it has no plans to pursue, but is looking for ways to make them safer.
On Wednesday, it was reported that another cache of classified documents was found in another Biden office…again, this is illegal.
I find it very interesting that our Mars Rover has discovered opal on the planet. If I am not mistaken, there had to be water present for the formation of these gemstones. Could some form of life have been far behind??
